Classes at The University of Arkansas are back in session and that means our residents have been making their way back to Fayetteville, Arkansas for another great semester here at The Cottages on Hollywood. While we hope everyone had an amazing holiday break, we were excited to help kick off UA Spring 2022 the right way with a variety of residence life events!
On Monday, January 24th, we started off our Welcome Back Week with Kick off the Semester with Gratitude in our leasing office. Residents were able to choose from a variety of customized notebooks and gratitude journals so they could start the semester reflecting on what they are grateful for. We were so happy to see over 20 of our residents stop by and tell us what they were grateful for this year. We are grateful for the best residents in all of Fayetteville!
On day two of Welcome Back Week, we held Roommate Trivia in our clubhouse lobby. We invited all roommates to join us in a couple rounds of trivia, including some Cottages on Hollywood trivia. We connected our iPad to one of the flat-screen TVs in our clubhouse. Every single person that came left with a gift card of their choice! We loved seeing the knowledge our residents had.
On Wednesday, we held Headshots in our clubhouse, where the lighting is impeccable. As our residents start to prepare to look for internships and potential jobs, we wanted to make sure they were equipped with a fresh new headshot. The dozen residents that came left with not just a headshot, but also some resume paper to make sure they stand out during their search. We are so excited to see what our residents accomplish in the future!
For day four, we held Grocery Bingo in our clubhouse lobby. The prizes each had themes such as a laundry day, winter, movie night, morning coffee, and our favorite- just a basket FULL of beef jerky. Residents gathered as we began our first round of bingo. Residents were extremely lucky, and all prizes were claimed within 30 minutes!
Our very last event of Welcome Back Week, we held Food Truck Friday in front of our leasing office. We love supporting local businesses, and we brought back one of our favorite local food trucks- KDK’s Chicken and Waffles. The first 20 residents to join us in our lobby were given a lucky ticket that got them a free meal and drinks from the food truck. KDK’s Chicken and Waffles whipped up the most amazing loaded waffle fries. We are not sure which was better, the company or the food!
It was an awesome week getting our residents geared up for a successful semester at the University of Arkansas! We love having the opportunity to provide a best-in-class, UA off-campus housing experience to our residents, and hosting a variety of engaging events is just one of the many ways we strive to accomplish that. From the whole team here at Cottages on Hollywood, we wish everyone an amazing Spring semester!
